About Us

Bringing women together...

In 2020, in the midst of my own struggle, I felt moved to bring women together. I needed, personally, to hear other women’s stories. I needed to see my story reflected back. I needed to know that there was hope.

Five years later, thousands of women have gathered every year on International Women’s Day, March 8th, to lift up recovery and listen to amazing leaders from around the world.

But today, we aren’t going to stop with one event, once a year. We are going to keep building and dreaming together, keep supporting one another, and keep growing.

Can you imagine a future where we can lift up recovery as a process and journey of deep healing and transformation? Where women leaders are equipped and encouraged to make a real impact in their communities?

Today, we can learn to lead so that the generations that come after us have more access to the services they need. So that addiction and mental health stigma is a thing of the past.

Today, we can join as founders of organizations, ministry leaders, teachers at recovery high schools, collegiate recovery program staff, researchers, affected family members, and global advocates.

Together, our mission is clear:

  • To ensure that the next generation has access to the resources, support, and community they need to flourish.
  • To promote recovery, not just as an individualized process but a collective movement.

Because WRLF isn’t about an organization or individual. This is about us. A collective of people who care about and support recovery. Women who gather together on International Women’s Day and connect in cohorts, mentorship, and other programs to say that women’s recovery is important. The next generation matters.

Recovery isn’t a moment in time where we arrive. Recovery is a process. Today – in this moment – we can, with the next generation, go deeper with our healing and our understanding of what recovery is. We can be challenged.

When we support each other and the next generation, we learn.

When we show up to connect and lift up our stories, we can inspire hope.

Let’s do this!
